Year 11

Our new building, equipment and facilities support a high-quality curriculum which will enable students to meet the needs of the highest demand qualifications at Key Stages 4.

In Year 11 students study Maths, English Language, English Literature. Students who have completed their GCSE English Literature GCSE focus exclusively on English Language.
Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught by subject specialists for two hours each per week with an hour of science lab time.
Students continue to study their options subjects for three hours each per week.

In tutor time and assembly we have a programme of Literacy, reading as a class and individually, SMSC, religious education and preparation and application for post-16 education.

Students have a range of out of school opportunities including trips and visits as well a programme of outside speakers. Students are prepared through employability sessions for future careers, for instance looking at the path from GCSEs to Medicine, or from GCSEs to Midwifery.
Students will have the opportunity to see professional arts events at Plymouth Theatre Royal and Pavilions, as well as watch the Plymouth Raiders Basketball team at one of their home matches.
