SIXTH FORM DRESS CODE

Sixth Form Dress Code

We expect smart students who take pride in their appearance. We also expect them to act as role models to younger students and be prepared for the world of work where smartness is an expectation.

All students must wear their lanyard and I.D. badge so that it is noticeable at all times unless they are taking part in an educational activity where it is unsuitable to wear one.

  Acceptable Unacceptable Variations

Top Half

-Smart collared shirt or blouse.

- Individual tie (optional)

-Smart jacket (optional)

- V neck or round neck jumper worn over a collared shirt or blouse.

- T-shirts

- Polo shirts (unless on a vocational course)

- Sports tops (unless studying a Sports qualification)

- Hoodies

- sweat tops

- All vocational students must wear a branded SDCC polo shirt.

- All Sport students must wear SDCC branded kit.

- Coats designed to protect the wearer against the elements are acceptable but MUST be removed once indoors.

Bottom half

 

 

 

 

- Smart trousers (tailored trousers or chinos etc.)

- Dress/skirt (no shorter than the top of the knee or with revealing side splits unless leggings are worn)

 

- NO Jeans of any colour.

- Leggings (unless under a skirt)

- Maxi dress

- Jogging bottoms

- Shorts

- All Sport students must wear SDCC branded kit.

 

 

 

 

Footwear

- Smart shoes

- Plain black trainers

- Branded trainers

- Flip flops

- All Sports students must wear suitable sports footwear.
Head wear Cultural headwear No head wear to be worn on the school premises unless for cultural reasons. - In times of extreme weather head wear that protects against the elements is acceptable but MUST be removed once indoors.
Jewellery

- Single piercings in the nose or ear.

- Cultural symbols

- A single ring with cultural significance

- Any variations on the acceptable.  
Hair   - Extreme styles and colours will not be allowed. - Communicate with the Head of Sixth Form to clarify BEFORE carrying out a hairstyle change.

Failure to adhere to these rules may result in students being sent home to change into acceptable clothing, or working in isolation until changes can be made.
