They carried out a practical procedure to investigate the effect of hand soap, disinfectant, and hand sanitizer on the growth of E.coli bacteria. 

They used aseptic techniques to inoculate an agar plate with the bacteria, then placed paper discs soaked in each substance in the plate. The plates were then incubated for 48 hours to see which substance killed the most bacteria.
