The event was the vision of Sixth Form student Kezhal Salih, who had been working towards bringing the idea to life for two years. The show saw students proudly walk the stage representing their heritage and cultures, creating a powerful display of identity, pride and unity.

The hall was packed with students and staff who enthusiastically supported every participant. As each student stepped onto the stage, the applause and cheers from the audience reflected just how meaningful the event was for everyone involved. With students representing countries and cultures from across the world, the show highlighted the richness of a school community that speaks an incredible 46 different languages.

Kezhal shared her gratitude with everyone who helped make the event possible, saying:

"Thank you to everyone who helped make my vision come to life. Seeing everyone cheering and supporting each other showed how beautiful every culture is and how proud everyone is of where they come from. It takes courage to go on stage and represent your culture, and I’m so grateful to everyone who took part."

The event also raised awareness for the charity White Ribbon, which works to end violence against women and encourages men and boys to take responsibility and challenge harmful behaviours.

Miss Honeyghan praised the students for their commitment and pride in representing their heritage, saying it was incredible to see students feel confident and supported in celebrating who they are.

The fashion show truly reflected the values of inclusion, respect and community across both schools. With such a fantastic turnout and response, plans are already being discussed to make the Cultural Fashion Show an annual tradition.
