Scott College Students Shine in Step into the NHS Adverts 2024–2025

Eleven Year 9 students from Scott College have been recognised for their outstanding creativity and teamwork in this year’s Step into the NHS competition, producing imaginative adverts to showcase NHS careers for 2025.

Scott College proudly received a special certificate of thanks for its participation in the 2024–2025 challenge, which gave students a valuable opportunity to develop skills, broaden their career aspirations, and work collaboratively.

The students split into groups to explore a variety of NHS roles, each creating a unique video advert to inspire future healthcare professionals. Two groups chose to focus on the role of a Paramedic, each bringing a different idea to life. One group staged a dramatic paramedic call-out, using authentic uniforms and equipment. Amelie shared, “I loved the filming and acting out the job role — it was so much fun and we couldn’t stop laughing at times, but seeing the final result made us really proud.” Isabella added, “We worked so well together as a group; it was amazing to create something like this.”

The second Paramedic group impressed everyone by building a cardboard ambulance, carefully recreating the equipment inside and narrating the key skills and qualities needed for the role. Eliza said, “I really enjoyed making the ambulance and thinking carefully about the colours and all the details inside.”

Another group explored the demanding role of an A&E Doctor, designing their advert as a conversational walk-through about the qualifications required and the realities of working under pressure. Perez said, “It felt embarrassing at first, but once we got in front of the camera it all came naturally.”

The final group dived into the field of Psychology, splitting their video into two parts — a realistic therapy session and an engaging presentation outlining the qualifications, skills, and salary linked to the career. Bella and Ella said, “We just worked so well together — everyone contributed to the research, planning, and filming. We loved every part of it.” Pipp and Rowena added, “We were an amazing team, and it was such a fun experience.”

Mrs Chalmers presented all participating students with certificates from both the NHS and Scott College to recognise their dedication and hard work. “I am so proud of every one of them for their commitment, teamwork, and professional attitude in bringing their videos to life — well done to you all!”

Well done to our inspiring Year 9 students for stepping confidently into the world of healthcare and showing such creativity and collaboration.
