Year 12 Students Attend Foot Anstey Careers Insight Day

Our Year 12 students recently had the fantastic opportunity to visit Foot Anstey for a Careers Insight Day, designed to bring the world of work to life and inspire the next generation.
Throughout the day, students heard about real career journeys from professionals across the business, gaining valuable insight into the variety of roles and pathways available. They also developed their confidence by creating and delivering their own personal pitches and worked collaboratively on an engaging business challenge.
Experiences like this play a vital role in raising aspirations, building essential communication skills, and helping students better understand the wide range of opportunities available to them in the future.
Year 12 student Rachel said:
“The Foot Anstey career fair was a great opportunity for us to inquire about a career in law, especially how it may be working in an office setting and the skills that we require. We got a chance to meet with three wonderful people in the field and spend time one-on-one with them to ask questions, including what a typical day looks like and the educational route they took. We also enjoyed pizza on the rooftop overlooking the Barbican and finished the session with a business pitch which helped us use our teamwork skills and confidence when presenting our idea. Overall it was very interactive and educational.”
Year 12 student Ben added:
“The Foot Anstey event was informative as someone pursuing a career in law. It helped develop my public speaking through the pitching exercises and gave me an in-depth understanding of the different forms of law and the skills needed to pursue them.”
Partnerships with organisations like Foot Anstey are incredibly important in helping young people explore career possibilities and see what could be achievable in the future.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a valuable and inspiring experience for our students.
