Bronze DofE Students Conquer Their First Walk

Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students had a fantastic day completing their first practice walk at Mount Edgcumbe, with sunny skies and bright spirits all round!
Starting at Cremyll Ferry, students made their way through the day stopping at key checkpoints: Fort Picklecombe, Makers Church (where they cooked lunch), Cawsands Beach, and Hooe Lake Point (Scout Field), before returning to Cremyll Ferry. Along the way, pupils demonstrated teamwork, determination, and resilience, putting their training into action.
Many students excelled, showing how preparation pays off, while others dug deep after learning from a few early mistakes. Overall, staff were proud of every pupil’s effort and enthusiasm throughout the day.
A huge thank you to all the staff who helped make the day run smoothly—and fun! The students’ positivity and teamwork really shone, and the lovely photos from the walk perfectly capture the mood of the day.
We can’t wait for the qualifier walk, and we’re confident our Bronze DofE participants will continue to impress!
