Scott Medical and Healthcare College celebrates outstanding A Level success

Students and staff at Scott Medical and Healthcare College are celebrating another year of outstanding A Level and BTEC results, with achievements across the board reflecting the College’s dedication to academic excellence and specialist expertise in medical and healthcare education.
As a specialist college for students aspiring to careers in medicine, nursing, health sciences and related professions, Scott Medical and Healthcare College provides a unique learning environment where academic rigour is combined with real-world healthcare experience. This year’s results highlight the impact of that approach, with many students securing places at prestigious universities, competitive apprenticeships, and professional training programmes in the medical and healthcare sectors.
Headteacher, Anita Frier, said:
“Our students have demonstrated extraordinary dedication, resilience, and ambition. These results are a testament to their determination to succeed, the expertise of our teaching staff, and the exceptional support available here at Scott. We are immensely proud of every student and look forward to following their progress as they take their next steps into higher education, apprenticeships, and employment in the healthcare professions.”
Many students achieved top grades in challenging A Level subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Health & Social Care, alongside Extended Project Qualifications (EPQs) that allowed them to explore specialist areas such as medical ethics, anatomy, public health, and medical technology.
Success Across the Board
Amongst this year’s stand-out achievements are several students who have found exciting paths forward thanks to their hard work and the support of staff.
Bea, who will be heading to the University of Exeter to study Politics and Sociology, couldn’t be happier with her grades. “I am over the moon with my grades and delighted that I have secured my place,” she said. “I even got an A in English Literature, which I was not expecting!”
Libby also celebrated securing a place at university. “I got the grades! I am so happy to have got my place at Bedfordshire University to study Midwifery,” she said. “I am so excited for the next stage and so thankful to all the teachers who helped me find what I really wanted to do.”
For Crystal, it was her time at Scott College that helped shape her ambitions: “Through being at Scott College, I found my love for Biomedical Science through guest speakers and workshops,” she explained. “I can’t believe I got the grades to secure my place at Plymouth University.”
Meanwhile, Caitlyn has already taken her first step into a healthcare career. “I have already gained a job at Derriford Hospital as a Health Care Assistant, which I am really enjoying!” she said. “Getting my results is just another notch on my belt. I’m happy to be working, earning money, and most importantly gaining experience in the field I want to develop in. I plan to start a Nursing Apprenticeship within the next year.”
Head of Sixth Form, Charlotte Hefford, added:
“Our mission is not only to help students achieve academically, but also to prepare them for the realities and rewards of working in healthcare. These results reflect the hard work our students have put in, the dedication of our teaching staff, and the vibrant, supportive learning environment we have here. This cohort has been a joy to work with, and they will go on to do amazing things in their chosen fields.”
This year’s success comes at an exciting time for the College, with the opening of a brand-new Sixth Form Centre in September further cementing its ambition to be World Class. Scott Medical and Healthcare College continues to set itself apart with its close partnerships with NHS trusts, universities, and healthcare providers. These partnerships give students access to clinical work experience, visiting lecturers, and hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for the demands of university and professional practice.
As students celebrate their success today, the College community is looking forward to another year of academic achievement and innovation in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Congratulations to all of our amazing students and their fantastic results.
